Bun Free and Lovin’ It!
My favorite cooking classes to teach are ones that the focus on diet restrictions. It sparks a certain creativity I don’t tap into as much, but when I do, amazing food creations happen!
On a personal note, I have been toying with the idea of eliminating processed sugar and white flour from my daily food consumption and have finally have made that step! I heard that it helps with your concentration and makes you feel more energetic and less lethargic. Two weeks in, I am definitely feeling the difference! I don’t feel like I’m missing out or hungry all the time…except for that occasional ice cream craving – Mmm! Thinking about it now!
It helps that my husband is doing it with me and that we both are chefs. We love to experiment making different foods and we love being each other’s guinea pigs! My husband made this one up! This recipe is a turkey burger with sunflower seeds. The sunflower seeds add great texture to the turkey burger! We pair each of our meals with a BRIGHT salad and a squeeze of lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper. If you want to up the ante, wrap the burger in a piece of iceberg lettuce, it adds a fabulous crunch!
